Two weeks ago, time froze on the clocks of Sendaï and the whole world watched in disbelief…
We immediately wrote asking for news from our friends and colleagues at BISA Japan. Mr. Matsumoto, Director of BISA Japan, sent us the following email showing courage and dignity in the face of adversity:
“Many of BISA JAPAN’s members are located in the stricken area in a state of annihilation where their safety cannot be guaranteed. We have set up rescue supplies to procure water, food, medicine, fuel and warm clothes. In addition, we have also started fund-raising for further necessary rescue supplies, which we shall use effectively.
We are most grateful and encouraged by the warm message from everyone at BISA. We really appreciate it. Japan promises to be revived without fail.”
I believe we chose to work in the field of spa and wellness because we want to make a difference to people’s lives, alleviate their pain, clear their minds and heal their hearts. For this reason, I believe we should help – not because it could have happened to us at a nearby nuclear plant, but because there is no alternative than to reach out and make a difference by sending messages of support and donating money to help provide the bare necessities.
