Code of Ethics
The British International Spa Association henceforth referred to as BISA, requires that all its members, of whatever status, should maintain the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct at all times.
- A member must always work with due regard for the laws and customs of the country in which he/she works.
- Members must offer services to the required standard, both of work and promises of work, as laid down in the membership structure of BISA.
- Members must not undertake treatments which are beyond the scope of their professional training.
- Members must not treat any client for a condition while the client is under medical care without the knowledge and permission of the client’s medical practitioner.
- A member must not give injections or prescribe drugs, or any other medical treatments, without the knowledge and consent of the client’s medical practitioner.
- Members should always act in a professional manner, with respect and confidentiality towards their clients, and with ethics and respect to their fellow members, and in accordance with the Code of Practice.
- Members must not engage in activities that are illegal or immoral, or operate in such establishments.
- Members who are advertising must always comply with advertising regulations and with the use of the name of the Association and its Logo.
Any breach of the Code of Ethics may be deemed professional misconduct and can lead to suspension of membership.
