BISA AGM 2007, Goudhurst, Kent
The 2007 BISA AGM was held on 29th November 2007 at Bedgebury School, Goudhurst, Kent. The entire Council stood for election and the following were elected as Council Members:
Sandra Bain, Delvis Bona, Kate Czik, Robert Czik, Paul Gallacher, Howard Gosling, Marian Green, Vicky Harper, Alan Jenner, Mark Maloney, Dr. Bruce Osborne, Janice Steinlet, Marion Schneider, Kate Tataryn, Joan Thornycroft, Jo Wackett, Iain Wallace
The following were then elected as officers:
- Chair – Marion Schneider
- Vice Chair Education – Delvis Bona
- Vice Chair Accreditation – Dr. Bruce Osborne
- Vice Chair PR – Marian Green
- Treasurer – Robert Czik
- Membership Secretary – Alan Jenner
- Honorary Secretary – Howard Gosling
- Marketing – Kate Czik
Following the AGM a Council Meeting was held, and the following topics were discussed:
BISA Agent in Japan – Mr. Matsamoto of the Japan Total Beauty Association was present at this meeting in order to present his qualifications for being appointed as the BISA Agent in Japan. He has been active in the Beauty and Spa Industry in Japan for more than 20 years, and is one of BISA’s first members. He has good contacts with the Japanese Government, which is considering opening several spas in Japan, and is very keen to open up an education scheme in Japan. He has a very good reputation in Japan, and the Council felt that it would be a very good for these discussions to go forward.
There was then a report on CIDESCO including Vicky Harper’s review of the Cidesco Congress.
Other subjects covered were the SQA Partnership, Education, Accreditation. Exhibitions attended, Insurance and Membership.
It was decided that the next BISA Conference will be held alongside the FutureSpa Baden-Baden, an annual event which will be held on 5th-6th December 2008.
