In 2006, the 3rd BISA Annual Conference took place from the 1st - 3rd December 2006 at the spectacular Fortina Spa Resort in the World Heritage City of Valletta on the island of Malta. This resort is a luxury 5 star hotel and spa, situated on the sea front in Sliema. The hotel has the world’s first therapeutic spa bedrooms, where you can indulge in spa treatments in the privacy of your own room.
The conference featured two parallel programmes of presentations with a split focus on spa management and therapies. Various wellness offerings were also demonstrated and could be tried during the visit including crystal sound therapy in the thalasso flotation pool, Spa Sante sessions, Pilates session and Aquaerobics. A Gala Dinner was held at the Malta Maritime Museum.
Post conference activities allowed guests to take a harbour cruise and get to know Valetta, to visit the neighbouring island of Gozo and, of course, to enjoy more fully the service and treatments at the hotel.
