BISA Objectives
The British International Spa Association was set up to promote minimum standards of quality and service within the Spa Industry, and to improve and promote education for spa therapists.
The main objectives of the BISA Council are:
- To set minimum standards of quality and service
- To act as an educational platform for the public
- To act as an educational platform for the trade outlets involved in spa services
- To work alongside true spa centres to advise and source hardware and consumables
- To supervise a training school designed to raise the United Kingdom standard spa treatments to therapy and certify a spa therapy qualification
- To supply qualified staff to spa establishments
- To have a grading system for spa outlets
- To reserve the right to have yearly checks on standard and facilities, and certify levels attained
- To provide a dedicated insurance policy for spa therapists
- To be able to advise the public of their nearest spa centre and direct them when necessary, i.e. publicity and conceptual marketing
- To use public relations and media to promote the association and its members
- To regularly provide a healthy lifestyle magazine to each member and encourage members to write in and share their views
- To represent other organisations compatible with the aims of the Association
